For Teachers
Welcome to the Teacher Support Network (TSN) Volunteer Program!
We are delighted that you are interested in this new program.
Volunteer Task Ideas
Volunteers are there to assist but they will be supervised by a school staff person at all times.
Volunteers can offer assistance to the school and classrooms in some of the following ways:
- Tutor
- Work-on-one with a student, or small group of students
- Assist with group projects
- Assisting with research assignments
- Computer help
- Assist with prep work (ie: enter grades, grade work, bulletin boards)
- Presentations based on volunteer's special talents/interests
- Work with ELL students
- Administrative assistance
Teachers are encouraged to come up with additional volunteer task requests. Teacher Support Network will then evaluate the opportunity to provide a volunteer to match the need.
Teacher Responsibility
- COMMUNICATION - Organize volunteer tasks prior to the arrival of the volunteer
- SCHEDULING - Teacher and volunteer are responsible for determining volunteer begin date and final schedule. Teacher is responsible for communicating any changes to the volunteer.
